Earth’s Abundance

Original Rune Painting

True wealth is born through work, grows alongside us and eventually bears fruit. We sow seeds, nurture what we cultivate, follow our path and receive a harvest — the result of our efforts, decisions and actions.

Against a background of dark green, mustard and yellow, brushstrokes in a variety of blended shades intertwine, creating the image of fertile earth. Their directional movement resembles the furrows of a ploughed and seeded field, holding the promise of future abundance.

Three ancient runes exist separately within this composition. Each reveals a distinct aspect of earthly prosperity: Fehu, Ingwaz and Jera.

Fehu — Wealth. Fehu represents material possessions, resources and the energy that enables us to create, preserve and multiply what we have. It reminds us of the value of our resources and our ability to turn opportunities into tangible results.

Ingwaz — Fertility. Ingwaz represents potential, maturation and the power held within a seed. Everything that will one day bear fruit must first come into being, receive space to grow and follow its natural path of development.

Jera — Harvest. Jera represents the completion of a cycle and the time to gather the fruits of our actions. It reminds us of a natural principle: the seeds we plant in fertile earth, and the things to which we dedicate our energy, eventually bring forth their own harvest.

Together, these three runes reveal the deeper meaning of earthly abundance. Wealth, fertility and harvest are parts of one continuous process. We create, develop and invest our strength and knowledge, and eventually encounter the results of what we have done.

Yet every person has their own harvest. Their own path, efforts, opportunities and understanding of what is truly valuable.

This painting invites us to reflect: What is true wealth? Is it only material possession, or does it also include the fruits of our labour, what we create with our own hands, the experience we gain, the opportunities for growth and what we leave behind?

Fertile earth does not promise the same harvest to everyone. It reminds us of the potential waiting to be cultivated and the value of the journey itself.

Earth’s Abundance is a story about what truly matters, what we cultivate in our lives and the harvest we receive as a result.
